Wedding Cars for Hire – How to Choose Yours

February 18th, 2012 Comments off

There are plenty of companies out there which offer wedding cars for hire but you need to make sure that they have exactly what you want before you make a commitment. When you’re choosing your wedding cars for hire, there are a few important points that you need to consider before you finalise your decision.

Vintage or Modern: Classic wedding cars include Rolls Royce, Jaguar, Daimler and Bentley which really are timeless. Vintage wedding cars come in a wide range such as a 1960s Princess, a Beauford, a Regent Convertible, Regal Landaulette or a Fleur de Lys. If you want to take advantage of an open-topped vintage car, do consider what the weather might be like on your wedding day.

Of course you can be ultra modern and go for an upmarket sports car such as Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Ferrari or Porsche or for something larger, a Hummer or Range Rover.

Chauffeur-driven or drive yourself: If you’re having a traditional wedding with classic or vintage wedding cars, with the bride and her father arriving together then chauffeur-driven is fitting, it’s also useful if parking or waiting is a problem near the wedding venue. For a small civil wedding ceremony drive yourself is fine, particularly if you fancy taking a spin in one of those high-end sports cars, but don’t forget that you won’t be able to drink alcohol if your drive yourself.

Colour: Bridal cars for hire come in a variety of colours with white and cream being the most popular, followed by silver and burgundy. However, you can go for black or even pink if that’s what takes your fancy.

Quantity: How many cars do you need? You need to decide how many of the main wedding party are going to the wedding in a limousine. Traditionally, the bridesmaids will travel together in a limousine, possibly with the bride’s mother, the best man will transport the groom and the bride and her father or whoever is giving her away will arrive last. If the bride wants to travel with her attendants and her father then a stretch limo might be suitable transportation.

Budget: Wedding cars for hire aren’t cheap so you may want to hire classic wedding cars for the main party and maybe a town car or two for others. Alternatively, you may only be able to afford a car for the bride, but in that case do make sure that everyone else has transport and knows who’s driving.

How to Choose Your 7 Seater Family Car

February 18th, 2012 Comments off

Baby no four is on his or her way and your regular family car is just not going to do it anymore. Now begins the search for your 6 or 7 seater family car. The dilemma begins – what is the best family car for us to buy?

Well to start with we have to ask ourselves do we want a 6 or 7 seater car? Personally I’d go for the 7 seater. Why? You ask, good question. The way I see it, most of the bigger family cars have a problem when it comes to the trunk of the car. They are really small, so if you have that extra seat that can be pushed down you gain a lot of space. Not to mention that you never know what the future holds and you may just need that extra seat in the not too distant future and what a shame that would be to have to go through the whole process of choosing another 7 seater car! Not to mention the obvious fact that whenever you buy or sell a car you always lose out financially.

7 things to look out for when choosing your 7 seater family car.

How comfortable to do the seats look and feel?
How big is the trunk of the car?
How big is the trunk of the car when one seat is put down?
Does the air conditioning reach the back of the car?
Fuel consumption – ratio within the city and outside the city
Actual size of the car – will you be able to park the car easily?
Resale value.

There are lots of options out there, depending on your location in the world, the various models will vary. There can also be a significant difference in prices according to the various makes and models. Each person has to make the decision that is right for his or her pocket.
